Coach Remontay McClain is a former NCAA Division I sprinter who coaches youth, high school and Masters athletes in the US. He needed a website that gets athletes and parents to apply for coaching.
I took the project from concept to launch: I made the design concept, built the site and put it live.
What I built
- Created the design concept as a PDF mockup before building a single section.
- Built a one-page landing site with eight sections: hero, mission, training programs, training philosophy, coach bio, philosophy quote, closing call to action and footer.
- Wrote the page as a reusable Elementor template (JSON) and imported it into WordPress, so the layout is easy to rebuild or reuse.
- Set up a black, gold and grey brand system with Oswald headings and Inter body text.
- Added scroll-to-section navigation and an Apply Now button, and made the layout work on phones.
- Set the site icon, title and tagline, and turned on SiteGround's Speed Optimizer for faster load times.
Built around one goal
Every section points visitors toward one action: applying for coaching. The programs section splits the offer by athlete type, the philosophy section builds trust, and the closing section sends visitors straight to the application.
